Disabled worshippers and visitors

... are very welcome at St George’s. If special assistance is required it would be helpful - though not essential - if you could contact us first to ensure we can make any special arrangements as necessary. However, disabled visitors who have not contacted us in advance are still most welcome, and should ask for assistance on arrival. We have a wheelchair that you are welcome to use whilst you are with us. We can also let you have a pair of reading glasses if you forget your own or even lend you a walking stick. If you are planning on visiting St Georges to worship, perhaps for the first time, why not let us know in advance?

There are large print service booklets and a hearing loop for those that would find these facilities helpful. We regret that disabled toilet facilities are not yet available but they are in the planning stages.

If for dietary reasons you would prefer to receive a gluten free wafer at Communion please let a sidesman know or one of the altar party and this can be arranged.

Genealogical and similar researches

Please do not contact members of the Clergy.

All enquiries should be made to the Parish Office by post (click here for the address), or by email to the Parish Administrator, Martin Carr, to ascertain the existence of registers covering the period required, and to receive a free estimate of costs involved.

Searches are commenced only upon receipt of the Statutory Fee(s) stated below, in the form of a Sterling Cheque, made payable to "St. George's Church".

Register Searches will then be carried out and a single certified copy of an entry (if found) is issued, resulting from a search of up to one hour duration.

The fee is for the search, not for the certificate. The basic statutory fee of £19 covers the first hour's search and one copy of an entry if found. Any additional time is charged at £15 per hour. Additional copy certificates are charged at £19 each.

Photographic copies of entries cannot be provided.
